Whether I’m building a site for a brand, a personal portfolio, or a real estate client, one thing is clear—social media is influencing web design in powerful ways.

Instagram, Pinterest, and TikTok are all about visuals. That’s why modern websites use hero images, video backgrounds, and image-heavy layouts that mirror social feeds. Visitors want to be impressed fast—and visuals do that best.

Mobile-First Isn’t Optional Anymore

Social media taught us to scroll and tap. Now, every site I build is mobile-first—thumb-friendly navigation, responsive layouts, and optimized speed. If your site isn’t mobile-friendly, you're losing users.

Let’s be real—email marketing isn’t dead. In fact, it’s more alive than ever. But it has changed a lot. If you're still sending out the same old newsletters from five years ago and wondering why nobody’s clicking... well, this one's for you.

Here are the new rules of email marketing in 2025—written in plain English and perfect for anyone, even if you're not a tech whiz.

Back in the day, people would send one big email to everyone on their list and hope for the best. That doesn’t work anymore. Today, personalization is everything. Talk to people, not at them. Use their name, mention something they care about, and keep it relevant.

People are busy. Most of us are checking emails on our phones while waiting in line for coffee. So if your email looks like a mini-novel
 it’s going straight to the trash. Keep it short, sweet, and skimmable. Bullet points, bold text, and clear calls-to-action work best.

Over 70% of people read emails on their phones. If your email looks weird or broken on mobile, they’re not reading it. Use mobile-friendly templates and test how your email looks on different screens.

People are picky about their inbox. And with new privacy laws and spam filters getting stricter, sending emails to random folks is a big no-no. Only email people who actually asked for it. Use double opt-in to stay on the safe side.

Nobody wants to open an email that just screams “BUY MY STUFF!” every week. Share value—tips, guides, updates, free resources—then ask for the sale. A good balance is 80% helpful content, 20% promo.

Letting people leave your list easily actually builds trust. It also keeps your list full of people who do want to hear from you. Always include a clear unsubscribe link. No hidden tricks.

Spam filters are smarter than ever. If your email sounds too “salesy” with words like “FREE!!!” or “ACT NOW!!!” it might never reach inboxes. Write like a human, not a shouting ad.

Your email list isn’t a set-it-and-forget-it thing. Old, inactive email addresses can hurt your deliverability. Clean your list regularly. Remove people who haven’t opened your emails in months.

Email platforms give you reports. See which subject lines people opened, what they clicked, and what they ignored. Learn from the numbers. Adjust and improve each time.
